Bethel Chamber Adds Backyard BBQ Rib Contest to Summer Fest

The Bethel Chamber of Commerce plans to bring a new event to the Summer Festival and Sidewalk Sales, a Backyard BBQ Rib Contest.  The BBQ Rib-off will take place during the Summer Festival on Saturday July 21st at 2pm.

While the judges are sampling the delicious bbq ribs, the crowd will be entertained by “Good Time Charlies”, a magic show, a puppet show, live dance demonstrations and family friendly games.  The Chamber decided to add the rib-off to bring more family friendly entertainment to the festival.

Ribs must be prepared at home and brought to P.T. Barnum Square for the judging, which will begin at 2pm.  Pre-registration is strongly encouraged but not required.  Entry fee is $5.00 per recipe.  Following a blind and random judging, first through fifth place honors will be awarded with ribbons and bragging rights.
