Happy Columbus Day! The Bethel Chamber will be hopping with activities and events over the next few weeks.  Don’t miss out on your opportunity to get in on the fun!

All registrations for the Healthy Living Expo need to be in by Wednesday October 10th.

The Image to Action Business Workshop Series begins this week with a presentation by Kristen Jensen Photography titled ” Focus on Image: Vision for your Success” this free workshop will be held at the Chamber Office on Wednesday October 10th.  Click here to register.    See below for complete details on the other workshop titles in the series. 

Saturday October 20th is Bethel Healthy Living Day presented by Boylan Chiropractic.  The day will feature the Healthy Living Expo presented by Newtown Savings Banks, the St. Mary’s Catch Me If You Can! Road Race presented by Greenwood Physical Therapy, the Fall Festival Sidewalk Sales and Vendor Fair, Live Music, Fitness Classes on the Lawn, Healthy Living Speakers and Workshops, Kids Activities, Live Music, and more! To register see the links below. 

Halloween Fun will be happening all around town this year and we need your support!  We are looking for prize donations  for the Annual Trick or Treat Costume Contest and for the 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat Night Spooky Trunk contest.  If you can donate a prize please contact the chamber office.

On Saturday October 27th the Annual Trick or Treat Street will be taking place in Downtown Bethel.  At 1pm there will be Animal Encounters show sponsored by the Bethel Parks and Rec and from 2pm to 4pm, the little ghosts and goblins will be lining the streets of Downtown Bethel for tricks or treats.

On Wednesday October 31st the 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat Night will be taking place in the Big Y Shopping Plaza on Stony Hill Rd.  The event takes place between 5pm and 8pm and is a Safe Alternative to Traditional Trick or Treating.  There will be music, food, and spooky fun!

Preparation and Planning is happening for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony presented by Ingersoll Automotive.  The Annual Tree Lighting is a great event featuring everyone’s favorite Horse Drawn Carriage ride sponsored by Union Savings Bank but we need your help to make this annual event the most festive yet!  We would like to add carolers to streets of Bethel, more kids activities and events on the municipal center lawn like a family flag football game, and of course the cookie contest.   Please call the office to get involved.

Shop Bethel Night is scheduled for Thursday December 6th.  Please be sure to send me your special discount.

Bethel Safe Haven Program

If you have a business storefront in Bethel (Stony Hill Area, Downtown Area, Grassy Plain Area, Clarke Business Park, Berkshire Corporate Park) and we would like to be a Safe Haven for the youth of our community please contact the Chamber Office.  There is a mandatory meeting on Tuesday October 30th at the Bethel Middle School in the Auditorium that will go over your expectations as a participating business and you will also receive your window stickers and other pertinent information.

Membership Update The Chamber is funded through our members dues.  If you have not paid your membership dues please do so, so that we can continue to provide you with the all of the benefits and services that you have come to appreciate.  Any business that lags behind more than 90 days will be removed from our business directory, office material will be discarded, your business will be removed from the referral list, and you will be charged for non-member rates for all upcoming events.  Membership dues can be paid by check or credit card.  You can even send payment through paypal.

Healthy Living Expo presented by Newtown Savings Bank - Saturday October 20th.   This year we are encouraging natural, healthy, and eco-friendly living.  We are looking for businesses that focus on health and wellness, fitness, nutrition, and green living (including retailers).  This is the area’s premiere health, fitness, nutrition, and green living event.   Click here for complete details.
