Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, 9:30 p.m. 9:30p.m.: Bethel Buzz hopes Bethel residents weathered the storms okay and all are safe. Your Bethel Buzz editor is without power, internet or cell service so I will be updating from my cell phone to Facebook when I have service and/or at the local coffee shop. As of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, 64% of Bethel remains without power. CL&P does not have any restoration estimates at this time. Comcast Cable estimates Wednesday afternoon for restoration in Bethel. There is no school on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 for Bethel, Immaculate or St. Mary’s students. The Bethel Chamber of Commerce’s “Trunk or Treat” IS ON for Weds. 10/31 from 5-8:00 p.m. in the Big Y parking lot, Stony Hill, Bethel. 7:30p.m.: Here’s an update on open Bethel restaurants who have charging & WiFi, thanks to our Bethel Buzz readers. Please tell your family & friends to LIKE our FB page—> CLICK HERE! Thanks all & stay safe! The following Bethel restaurants are open with power & WiFi: Molten Java- charging & WiFi, Greenwoods Grille- charging, The Spot Bethel- charging & WiFi, Tonelli’s Restaurant- charging, Putnam House- charging, Gotham Auto will be open tomorrow with WiFi, Plain Janes is open- not sure if they have WiFi, Whitlocks is open not sure if they have WiFi, Pizzeria Lauretano is open for dinner – don’t know if they have WiFi, Wah Lah is open and has power for recharging, they don’t have Internet service back yet.Famous Pizza is open with WiFi, Per Tutti is open- not sure if they have WiFi, Redding Roasters Coffee Company will be open tomorrow. Rainy Day Paperback Exchange will be open as well, no WiFi, but they have charging stations.
6:45p.m.: From The Regional YMCA of Western CT- Grassy Plain YMCA remains without power. We will attempt to reopen at 10:00am Wednesday if power is restored. Please note, this is pending power is returned. Please call ahead to ensure that is the case. We will send out another email but are aware that not everyone can access their email/internet. Bethel Buzz Rt 58 is blocked on the 302 end & last night I heard it was blocked at Sunset Hill. Not sure if it is cleared yet.

Bethel Buzz Route 6 by Target is fine. Just downtown Bethel is really bad.3:30 p.m.:Also: Bethel Schools, St Mary’s & Immaculate Schools are all closed tomorrow, Weds. 10/31.
