Residents in Elmwood Court Under Boil Water Advisory

The Connecticut Department of Public Healthhas issued a boil water advisory for Elmwood Court. According to the CT DPH, 82 small public drinking water systems in the state are under a boil water advisory.
Elmwood Court is a housing complex on Route 302 near Rockwell Road that serves 20 units.

The DPH offers the following advice to be safe:
- Safely boil water by bringing it to a rolling boil for one full minute.
- Use boiled or bottled water when cooking, washing fruits and vegetables, brushing teeth, or making baby formula.
- Use water that has previously boiled and cooled to a safe temperature or bottled water to wash hands when cooking.
- Do not swallow any water or get any water into mouths when showering or bathing
Residents that wells are encouraged to monitor the quality and contact state health officials if they have any suspicions of contamination. If contaminated water is suspected, call the DPH Private Well Program at 860-509-7296. Testing is available through the local health department.
