Two Bethel sisters, Mackenzy and Alexys Garden, will be dancing in the Danbury Music Center’s Nutcracker Ballet this weekend at Danbury High School.  Mackenzy, a 6th grader at St. Mary School in Bethel, has been dancing for 8 years. Alexys, a 4th grader at St. Mary School, has been dancing for 6 years.  This is the 5th year Mackenzy has danced in the Nutcracker and Alexys’ 3rd year.

With big dreams of  being a Radio City Rockette one day, Mackenzy has a good start on the process, perfecting her craft at Dance Dimensions in Brookfield. Both Mackenzy and her younger sister Alexys say they want to be school teachers when they grow up, but for now love dancing because “Is a way for them to express themselves in ways words can’t,” their mother Lisa said.  ”While they are dancing, they have the opportunity to have fun with friends.”

Both girls are on the dance competition team at Dance Dimensions and are looking forward to taking the stage at Danbury High School this weekend for The Nutcracker ballet. Under the direction of Arthur Frederic, Artistic Director/Choreographer
Ariel Rudiakov, Music Director and Conductor, the girls will perform with the cast and live music from the Danbury Symphony Orchestra.
