Region Comes Together for “A Tribute to Newtown”
A TRIBUTE TO NEWTOWN WEDNESDAY 12/19/12:
First Selectmen and Mayors from the Greater Danbury Region have come together to organize a Tribute to Newtown.
The gathering will be a way for the people of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman to come together in this time of need.
Western Connecticut State University will welcome guests to this regional tribute event on Wednesday, December 19th at 7pm in support of Newtown, Connecticut and everyone affected by the tragic school shooting last week. A Tribute to Newtown will take place at the O’Neill Center on the Westside Campus of WCSU in Danbury, Connecticut. The tribute will include various musical performances from choirs and musicians as well as remarks by community leaders including Western Connecticut State University President, Dr. James Schmotter.
The tribute is open to the public. Please show your support for Newtown.

A Moment of Silence
Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy has called for a statewide moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, which is exactly one week after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Malloy also asked churches to ring their bells 26 times to honor the victims.
