Important Flu Outbreak Message from Danbury Hospital
According to Mayor Mark Boughton’s robo call, “Danbury Hospital is experiencing a large influx of patients due to the recent flu outbreak. The hospital has asked the City of Danbury to remind residents to use the following practices to avoid spreading the flu”:
1. Avoid close contact with people
2. Stay home if you’re sick or not feeling well
3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
The hospital said you should seek medical care if you or any family member have the following symptoms:
- Bluish skin
- High fever accompanied by a rash
- Dizziness
- Not waking up
- No tears when crying or excessive dehydration
The people who are most high risk for getting the flu include children under the age of 18 and adults over the age of 50.
Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton said: “There is still time to get a flu shot Please consider doing so to help stop the spread of the flu. Thank you for your cooperation.”
