The Danbury News Times reported this morning: “George Sayers, Jr., 46, and Tiffany Hartford, 23, of Nashville Road, were charged with third-degree sexual assault after DNA tests proved they were father and daughter and the parents of a child, according to an arrest warrant affidavit made public Tuesday in state Superior Court in Danbury.”

By later this morning the U.K. Daily Mail had the news story on their news site, as well as many other national publications and media outlets..

According to police reports, Hartford and Sayers were both charged with “Obscenity,” “Conspiracy to Commit Obscenity,” both Class B misdemeanors, and “Sexual Intercourse with Kindred,” a Class D felony. Both Hartford and Sayers have both pleaded “not guilty” to all charges.

WFSB Eyewitness News Channel 3 broadcasted live from the Bethel Police Department for their 5:00 p.m. news cast, however, according to Police Captain Dave Bruckenthal the department was not releasing any further information to the media/press regarding the case. Bruckenthal said the investigation was led by Detective George Bryce and was prompted by a complaint from Hartford’s former girlfriend stemming from accusations of alleged pornography being sold without her consent. Bruckenthal told Bethel Buzz the girlfriend’s name was not being released because “she is a victim.”

Hartford and Sayers are scheduled to appear on Danbury Superior Court on December, 21, 2012 to answer to the charges.
